Hello, lovers. I am so ecstatic to share a glimpse of what we do around here. Paper Cliché is a full service design studio specializing in modern, romantic semi-custom wedding stationery. Think: understated elegance, organic minimalism, and high touch service.

For today’s feature, we travel to Cielo Farms in Malibu, where Erica and Nick’s wedding was the epitome of romantic minimalism with a touch of whimsical, organic charm. An effortless blend of refined details and natural beauty allowed the setting (and their love story) to truly shine. We got to work with Intertwined Inc, and it was documented beautifully by the talented Erica Steelman.

The evening before the wedding was filled with custom, whimsical touches that set the tone for the celebration to come. We created their welcome sign with a neutral lime wash treatment and a clean, minimalist design. The menus featured a playful hand-drawn border and a funky font reminiscent of hand lettering throughout, with dainty illustrations woven in for a sweet, personal touch. We leaned into the burgundy tones of the florals, letting that palette guide each paper detail for a cohesive and artful finish.

Erica and Nick chose to customize The Alexandra with a minimalist, timeless aesthetic in mind. Their envelope liner complemented the color palette, adding soft dimension while keeping the look refined and cohesive. The entire suite was wrapped in raw-edged silk crepe ribbon and finished with a buttercream wax seal, bringing their custom venue illustration and every personalized detail together in one pretty parcel.

This oversized, delicately hand frayed linen welcome sign truly had its moment, styled alongside parasols and the most magical floral arrangement. Their custom venue illustration made another appearance, tying the design story together, and the entire look was finished with soft green silk ribbon for an effortlessly romantic touch.

Showcasing their signature cocktails, the travertine bar menu created an organic yet modern feel. Acrylic seating plaques added a clean, contemporary touch, beautifully balanced by whimsical little buds.

Each menu card was delicately hand torn, creating a delightful decked edge effec and struck the perfect balance between minimalist design and a modern layout. Meal indicators were thoughtfully incorporated through hand drawn botanical illustrations, subtly tucked into their napkins for a seamless touch.

Erica and Nick’s evening unfolded like a dream. It was a celebration that felt both elevated and deeply personal—an unforgettable and timeless Malibu wedding. I absolutely cherished working with Erica throughout the process– she had a perfect vision from the beginning and it was an honor to bring it to life!
